Welcome to Hockessin WALK-IN Medical Care (HWMC). As you tour our facility and meet with our staff, I would like to tell you a little bit about us. HWMC was opened on April 7, 2003. In our first year we cared for over 4,000 patients. Since then we have successfully expanded our practice, and are currently caring for over 14,000 patients per year. We met this increasing need of our growing community by doubling our physical size in June, 2008. Our expansion added to our Papastavros’Associates X-ray, on site Quest Laboratory, Medical Specialty Suites and 15 fully equipped exam rooms for use during peak evening and weekend hours.
As you walk around the facility, you may quickly recognize a sense of camaraderie and respect amongst our staff members. Our reputation for compassion and quality of medical care is well recognized by Hockessin and the surrounding communities of Delaware and Pennsylvania. Since we participate in the health care and education of local schools and sports leagues, we have many referrals from local school nurses as well as local coaches and trainers.
We pride ourselves on being a dynamic training facility. In the past 6 years we have trained over 100 interns and students ranging from high school and college interns interested in the health professions to nursing students, PA students, medical students and medical residents.

Our facility is extremely unique. We can provide services and treatments that are not typically done in a physician’s office setting. Throughout the patient’s stay we provide hands on care with close supervision by experienced Licensed Nurses, NP’s, PA’s and an Attending Physician is always on site. In addition, HWMC has direct admitting privileges to Christiana Care, St. Francis and Wilmington hospitals for patients who require in- hospital care. We also provide excellent care to the uninsured members of our community. HWMC has set up a reasonable rates program with a payment plan of only $25 per month that allows families who are struggling without insurance to still have access to good medical care.
Whether an individual is seen at our office for a simple cold / sore throat, or arrives under duress with difficulty breathing or severe pain, we promise that we will take care of every patient with respect, thoroughness and compassion. The care will be the same for each of our patients regardless of their financial situation, race, creed, age or religion.
